Wadden Sea Board met in Wilhelmshaven (WSB 30)

On 21 November 2019, the three national delegations of Denmark, Germany and the Netherlands as well as advisors from the Wadden Sea Forum and the NGOs Danish Ornithological Society, It Fryske Gea and WWF met for the 30th meeting of the Wadden Sea Board (WSB 30). The meeting was held at the Aquarium Wilhelmshaven, Germany. The members of the Board discussed the implementation of the Leeuwarden Declaration with special focus on the Simple Integrated Management Plan, the Trilateral Monitoring and Assessment Programme, the Partnership Hub and shipping, on initiative of the Wadden Sea Forum. The WSB further agreed to continue and slightly increase their contribution to the International Wadden Sea School for the next three years. Henk de Vries of It Fryske Gea was appointed Advisor to the Board. Karin Lochte, Chair of the Board, initiated the launch the official launch of the new Wadden Sea website, now also reached via the domain www.waddensea-secretariat.org, and thereby retiring the old CWSS website. The launch was combined with the release of a review video on the Anniversary Bike Tour 2019.

The next Wadden Sea Board meeting is scheduled for June 2020.
